Dress Forms
Wire dress forms are definitely a hot item in altered arts. But, what do you do with them? We've got lots of cool ideas.

There are so many fun ways to use and display these pieces outside the traditional sewing room. They create a real topic of conversation decorated for any of the seasons. Another unusual showcase could be to drape and pin your prized travel or wedding memorabilia. A nostalgic look could be created by pinning old sewing notions and vintage hankies for display. How about an ever-changing visual piece of art with your jewelry hanging from one? - or better, yet, for those great vintage earrings you love, but don't have the courage to wear?
"Perfect Coming and Going" Original, paper, dress form design by Janie Mills.
My thought for this design was as a homage to women who feel they must look perfect, but, all the while may feel something totally different underneath. Miss Perfect, Coming and Going, is wearing a paper gown adorned with gold crowns and French script. Gold-flecked, wedding tulle is cinched tightly at the waist with a crystal and pearl vintage earring. The back features a dainty vintage posie, silk ribbon, and white feathered wings. Underneath is an altogether different scene. There, you discover a page of an old medical illustration of Aphrodite's body depicting her "regions of insanity". i.e.region of crime & selfishness, energy, combativeness, love of power, spirituality, energy, seat of the soul, etc. A very unique, one-of-a-kind, statement!
